Kakamega Forest National Reserve
This
superb slab of virgin tropical rainforest is home to
a huge variety of birds and animals. Wildlife include the rare De Brazza's monkey,
red-tailed monkey, black and white colobus and blue monkey.
The
best way to appreciate the forest is to walk and there
are nature trails. There are over 300 species of birds
and the best viewing months are June, August and October-when
many migrant species arrive.
